Valery Tishkov

Ethnologist, historian. Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Director of the N. N. Miklukho-Maklai Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. President of the Moscow International Festival of Visual Anthropology “Mediating Camera”. Was born in Nizhnije Sergy, Sverdlovsk region. Graduated from the history department of Moscow State University (1964). Former Minister for Nationalities of the Russian Federation (1992). Sphere of his research interests covers the theory of ethnos, ethnic processes in the post-Soviet environment, history, historiography and culture of Northern America, indigenous peoples, ethnic problems and conflicts.


Galina Adamovich


Documentary filmmaker. Was born in Minsk. Graduated from the Belorussian Arts Academy (1994). The same year started work at the national film studio “Belarusfilm” and various Belorussian television channels. Member of the Belorussian Filmmakers Union. Award winner of various international
film festivals. Winner of the Special Culture and Art Award of the President of the Republic of Belarus (2012).



Nikolai Kolyada

Playwright, director and actor. Honored Art Worker of Russia. He was born in Presnogorkovka village in the Kustanai region of Kazakhstan. Graduated from the Sverdlovsk Theatre School in 1977. Started work at the
Sverdlovsk Drama Theatre. In 1989 graduated from the Gorky Institute of Literature. Author of almost one hundred plays staged by many Russian and foreign theatres. Since 1994 a lecturer of the Drama Department of the Ekaterinburg Theatre School. Many of his students have become leading new generation playwrights. In 2001 he brought together his own theatrical group and set up a Kolyada Theatre where he is a manager, as well as stage and art director. He made about 30 stage productions of his own, as well as other Russian and international classic plays. Kolyada Theatre is a regular participant and winner of many awards at the Russian and international theater festivals.

Paolo Chiozzi

Professor of the University of Florence ((Universita degli studi di Firenze). Graduated from Pavia University in 1968. Taught cultural anthropology, visual anthropology, modern anthropology in various universities of Italy,
gave lectures and seminars in many European countries. Member of the Academic Committee of the Tuscan photographic archives. For many years he has been supervising the ethno-anthropological section of the Festival dei Popoli (Florence). Author of Visual Anthropology, Ethnicity and Power, Jews and Anthropology, Anthropology of Freedom, Visual Didactics, Ethics and Method. Reflections of Visual Anthropology, and numerous publications in Italian and international magazines.


Aleksey Fedorchenko

Feature and documentary films director, film producer. Was born in Sol-Iletsk, in the Orenburg region. Since childhood has been living in Sverdlovsk (Ekaterinburg). Studied engineering and economics at the Ural
State Polytechnic Institute (1988), and script writing at the Russian State Institute of Cinematography (2000). In 1990-2005 – an economist, deputy director, producer, film director at the Sverdlovsk film studio, since 2005 – producer and director at the private film company “February 29”. Award winner of various international film festivals. Member of the European Film Academy.
